My Story

When I step away from the office, I immerse myself in the joys of family life. My wife and two sons bring me happiness and laughter every day. I am close with my extended family, which also provides consistency and fulfillment.

Sports are and have been a big part of my life. I love the adrenaline and camaraderie that come with recreational activities, as well as coaching my son’s soccer team. In my free time, I am involved in various community activities, school activities, and child-related activities.

In the courtroom, I am an honest, well prepared, and tenacious advocate. As a seasoned litigator, I am regularly in court at hearings, non-jury trials, and jury trials for my clients.

Insights & Experiences

Integrity, hard work, and honesty are not just buzzwords for me; they form the foundation of my character. I am confident yet humble, and always strive to maintain the highest level of professionalism. I understand that being responsive to my clients’ needs is crucial to building a strong, trusting relationship.

When looking for legal representation, it’s important to keep in mind that all attorneys are different. Some are motivated by duty, while others are driven by other factors. It is important to find the right fit for you. So, when you meet with an attorney, pay attention to how interested they are in your story. Do they show a genuine interest in your case, or do they simply recite legal jargon?

Background & Expertise

My legal career officially began after I earned my law degree at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska (J.D., 2014), where I served on the editorial staff of the law review. I also enjoyed moot court and was a “Best Brief” Finalist at the Creighton Moot Court Competition in 2012. Before law school, I studied Political Science, Anthropology, and History at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa (B.A. 2010).

Before joining Shindler, Anderson, Goplerud & Weese P.C, I gained experience in criminal law, tax preparation, estate planning, and real estate law by representing clients at a firm in Perry, Iowa. I contribute to the Iowa State Bar Association Family Law Manual and have spoken at the Iowa State Bar Association’s Bloethe Tax School.

Now, I seek justice for clients in the areas of divorce, litigation, child custody/visitation, taxation, child support, appeals, business law, contracts, and corporate law. With focused energy on deeply learning your interests and goals, I will work with you on a detailed plan to build a better future for you and your family.
