My Story

Early in my legal career, a senior attorney once told me that law wasn’t the right path for me. While this was extremely difficult to hear as a young attorney, it drove me to develop into the successful attorney I am today. Success in any family law case requires clients to ignore the noise and negativity, instead focusing solely on their desired case outcome and steps to get there. While difficult, this approach always leads to a client’s best outcome in their case.

During my last year of law school, I co-founded Obtainium whiskey and now co-own Cat’s Eye Distillery out of Bettendorf, Iowa. We source and bottle spirits from around the United States and World as one of the only American independent bottlers. We have distribution in 13 states and have won numerous awards, including Fred Minnicks top 25 of 2022.

I have come to realize that setting realistic goals is crucial to achieving success. Every case and client demands careful and patient attention to detail. Rather than pursuing great leaps, I believe in taking small, incremental steps that, when combined, lead to significant results. Whether it’s negotiating custody agreements or protecting property, I devote my energy to every aspect of the process.

Background & Expertise

After graduating in 3 years with an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Luther College (B.A., 2016), I attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa (J.D., 2018) where I was a member of the Drake Law Delta Theta Phi chapter, treasurer of the Federalist Society, and Dean’s list recipient.

Since then, I’ve practiced family law in Polk County, Iowa, where I fiercely support each client’s rights and interests. I often meet clients during their most trying times – child custody and visitation disputes, divorce and alimony negotiations, and asset allocation challenges. My goal as your attorney and advocate is to bring a sense of calm certainly to an emotionally charged situation, and instill confidence in a brighter outcome.

I also support distilleries because I love craft spirits and small businesses. The regulatory environment in this industry is quite complex, and my passion for it compels me to stay updated on the ever-changing laws and regulations.
