My Story
My path to law wasn’t just a career choice; it was a calling—an opportunity to help and uplift others going through some of the worst times in their lives. Our society demands legal representation for all, which resonated deeply with me. I have always been extremely passionate about pursuing a career advocating for others, especially for children and families who grappling with life’s most complicated challenges.
Family is my top priority. I am very involved in my children’s school and extracurricular activities. The joy of watching my children as they learn and grow, together with my husband’s support, allows me to serve my clients wholeheartedly. My children’s academic, emotional, and developmental growth fuels my own. I am also actively involved as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations in our community
Insights & Experiences
Integrity and a strong work ethic are my bedrock. I deeply value the importance of empathizing with every person and situation, knowing that compassion bridges gaps. I am a zealous advocate and, I fight fiercely for my clients, while also being a pragmatist. The legal profession demands both—the give and take that shapes justice and ensures the brightest outcomes. I work tirelessly to ensure my clients feel heard and respected at all times, while also maintaining an honest and straightforward approach to ensure each client knows they are receiving the best advice possible to achieve their goals, despite how difficult this may be at times.
Background & Expertise
My Iowa education spans the State. I graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Psychology and Political Science (B.A. cum laude, 2006) before attending Drake University Law School (J.D. with Honors, 2009). The social and emotional understanding I have gained throughout my life motivated me to become part of the solution.
Before joining Shindler, Anderson, Goplerud & Weese P.C., I was the in-house counsel for a local youth services agency in Des Moines. Today, I specialize in Family law, dissolution, child custody, visitation, child support, modifications, juvenile law, guardianships, adoptions, and litigation because I believe in the impact of empathetic advocacy in building a better future.
